New Orleans is an extremely unique city of its own. Music in New Orleans is part of the culture as much as the food and architecture. Music flows the streets of the Crescent city from jazz to gospel. Music has evolved from the city because of the many cultural backgrounds. The Creole background from part of the population mixed with parts of the European music style. The popularity of the music has created many clubs and venues for current and future performers. New Orleans has created a mix of blues and rock which can be called Swamp Rock. Music expresses the emotions of the city and it’s resilience to natural disasters.

Going to New Orleans music is extremely important to the city. I attracts people to the city for tourism. It is a form of entertainment and expression. Music a part of every single street in New Orleans. It is such a large part of the city there is a music section in the museums. The Cabildo is a museum of New Orleans history. It has sections that connect to jazz and the blues. There are old trumpets from music greats and a section of Louis Armstrong one of the greatest Jazz players ever. The music in the city brings life and character to the city. It is called the Big Easy because it is easy to get a music job in the city.
